Wind Down
This practice is designed to support the body’s natural transition from the activity of the day to the winding down period of your day. By late in your day the nervous system shifts away from active stimulation. These classes use fluid movement, strengthening, opening and stabilizing postures to release accumulated tension, refresh energy and steady the mind before the settling hours.
Around this time, the physiological systems naturally begin to downshift: core temperature starts to dip, melatonin production slowly initiates and the brain moves toward a more reflective, less reactive state. The nervous system transitions from the outward demands of the day toward repair and recovery. These classes support this shift in a regulated, intentional way.
Each class begins with thoughtful openings to quiet the sensory load accumulated throughout your day then builds into sequencing that produces heat and circulation in a measured, intelligent way, awakening the muscles without overstimulating the nervous system. Class concludes with supported work to rejuvenate and prepare both body and mind for your wind-down.
Key Benefits
- Supports the natural decline of cortisol
- Steadies the nervous system while preventing the “evening crash”
- Reduces the cognitive “residue” of the day
