Midday Refresh

A reset that works with your natural midday rhythms. Strengthening, opening, and stabilizing postures help regulate energy, support healthy midday cortisol patterns and refresh the mind for the hours ahead.

 

By midday, the body is naturally more alert: core temperature rises, cortisol levels are steadier, and the digestive and muscular systems are primed for activity. These midday practices are designed to work with that rhythm.

 

Each session begins with grounded openings to organize the spine, access the joints and muscle and transition the nervous system from “busy” to “focused.” From there, we move into sequencing that supports healthy midday cortisol patterns, stimulates circulation and lightly activates the digestive and metabolic systems. Class concludes with closing postures that down-shift the nervous system so you return to your afternoon steady, clear and awake—rather than depleted.

Ground

The start of each class involves a seated practice that moves you from doing into being. We shift from external activity to internal attention. A process of experiencing, sensing and being fully present.  

Stretch

Through postures that create space, the body is cleansed. Through awareness, the mind becomes attentive and the organic and nervous systems are awakened and stabilized. 

Deepen

Deliberate sequencing that uses energy efficiently, supports healthy stress responses and establishes the conditions for the final phase of practice to truly integrate and restore.

Awaken

The art of conscious relaxation. To absorb and integrate the effects of the practice in the body, breath and mind. By practicing stillness with awareness, you rest deeply, perceive subtly and experience the quiet, unified state at the heart of yoga.

With over two decades of personal practice and teaching experience, Deanna brings depth, clarity and vitality to each class. In addition to teaching regular classes, she leads retreats and workshops that invite students to explore yoga as a powerful tool for long-term health and well-being.

 

Grounded in a deep understanding of how a customized yoga practice can support health on a profound level, Deanna encourages awareness and self-study as pathways toward personal insight and healing.
