Take Rest
This practice is designed to help you unwind, settle and prepare the body and mind for the transition to deep rest and sleep. As the last part of your day approaches, the body naturally begins shifting into its restorative phase. Melatonin production gradually increases, signalling the brain and nervous system to prepare for sleep. This practice is designed to support that biological transition, guiding the body out of stimulation and into deep rest.
Through extended holds and slower, intentional sequencing, muscles gradually lengthen, joints decompress and circulation softens throughout the body without overstimulating the heart or nervous system. These longer postures encourage the parasympathetic response, helping reduce tension, lower stress hormones and quiet mental activity accumulated throughout the day.
Meditative breathwork further supports this process by regulating the vagus nerve, slowing the breath rate and calming the sensory system — all of which have been shown to improve sleep quality and reduce nighttime restlessness. As the body softens and the breath deepens, the mind settles into a peaceful, receptive state, creating ideal conditions for natural, unforced rest.
This practice gently guides you toward stillness, helping you unwind, reset, and prepare for deep, restorative sleep.
